MINISTER FOR SOCIAL PROTECTION CONFIRMED TO SPEAK – NEW START TIME
We are pleased to announce that the new Minister for Social Protection - Joan Burton TD, will address the IAPF Annual Investment Conference which will take place tomorrow Wednesday, 23rd March 2011 in the Convention Centre in Dublin.
Registration for Conference will be at 8.00am, the conference will commence at 8.30am and Minister Burton will speak at 8.45am.
This conference will focus on one of the key issues facing trustees today – how to address the issue of risk but continue to seek returns. We will hear the approach schemes are taking including a case study from Liam Mulcahy, a Unilever Trustee. We will hear from the NTMA on Sovereign Bonds. We will also have a “Dragon’s Den” style presentation of some of the investment classes trustees may be considering with an investment committee of dragons making their decisions on those presentations. Throughout the day we will be examining how we make decisions as human beings and also allowing the audience to participate in the decisions with voting buttons. We will end with a presentation from one of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs on how companies can thrive in a recession. This promises to be an entertaining and informative event.
