Introduction

Trustee Online Training - Refresher - Part II

The IAPF Trustee Training Refresher Course has been designed for Trustees who have undertaken Trustee Training in the past but wish to refresh their knowledge and ensure that they comply with the Pensions Act Regulations. The course focuses not only on the theory of trusteeship but also on the practicalities - through a mix of presentations by experts, delegate interaction and real-life case studies.

It has been brought up to date to consider the Pensions Authority guidelines to Trustees during Covid-19. It will also cover what action Trustees should take in the event of volatile markets and what Trustees should be doing to ensure their schemes can address the additional regulatory requirements that are likely once the IORP II Directive is transposed into Irish Law.

The course will now be held via a live interactive online presentation held over two days. Each session should take approximately two and a half hours. Participants are required to attend both Part I and Part II of this training in order to receive a certificate of attendance. Once you have registered for Part I you are automatically registered for Part II - there is no need to book twice.

Part I - Wed 30th Sept  2020  - Trustee Governance | Trustee Duties – A recap | Legislation and good governance | IORP II – Pensions Authority Guidelines.

Part II - Wed 7th Oct 2020  - Covid 19 - Pensions Authority Guidelines | Investment | Statutory Responsibilities | Fundamentals | Changing Environment | Volatile Markets - Crisis Management | Mobile Workers Directive | Recent Case Law.
